OUR STORY

Manly Pavilion is a heritage listed building located in Manly, New South Wales, with a rich history spanning over 90 years. The building was established in 1933, when it was built by the Port Jackson and Manly Steamship Company. During this interwar period, the purpose of the building was to serve as dressing rooms and amenities for the nearby Manly Cove ocean pool, which was a very popular and fashionable seaside resort at the time. Over the years, Manly Pavilion operated for many different purposes and in 1980 was fit out as a restaurant. In 1999, Manly Pavilion was recognised as one of the last remaining harbour structures of this period and style in Sydney, and in 2000 it was officially registered on the New South Wales State Heritage Register.

Today, Manly Pavilion is operated by The Boathouse Group, having opened the restaurant, bar and events space in April 2022 after a significant refurbishment. The building retains its original beauty, featuring Mediterranean tiles, archways and parquetry timber flooring, set against a backdrop of the breathtaking Manly Harbour foreshore.

In operating Manly Pavilion, The Boathouse hope to do justice to the history of the beautiful building and its prestigious setting, creating a welcoming and unique destination to dine, celebrate or simply sit back and enjoy your favourite drink. We look forward to welcoming you to Manly Pavilion for many years to come!
